#1 Set yourself a clear GOAL
Goals should be S.M.A.R.T.:
⭐Specific
⭐Measurable
⭐Achievable
⭐Relevant
⭐Time-bound
#2 Remember your WHY
At a deep emotional level, what is it that drives you to want to change? Whatever the reason it has to be clear and at the forefront of your mind.
#3 Have a PLAN
Not only should you PLAN what you’re going to do in the gym, but you should also PLAN for obstacles that may prevent you from going to the gym.
Examples: Have your gym clothing ready the night before and Keep a spare set in the office.
Follow a program that suits your time availability and goal(s).
Have a backup plan to ensure you do something when you can’t fit in your usual full workout.
#4 Find SUPPORT
Surround yourself with people who are like-minded and will support you in reaching your goal. Personal trainers are great for this as well as guiding you to reach your goal SAFELY and QUICKLY.
#5 Set a SCHEDULE
Write down when and how often you will go to the gym each week. This can serve as micro goals that once achieved will give you further motivation.
#6 Don’t COMPARE
You should focus only on how much you have improved not on other people. Everybody’s circumstances are different so it’s best to celebrate any progress you may make, no matter how small.
#7 Focus on the Process
Enjoy the journey and focus on the process rather than the outcome because if you’re consistent with that your results will follow.
