Save Time in the Gym

Have you ever gone to the gym for a 1-hour workout that turns into 2 hours?

It happens to most of us but if you want to stay focused and efficient with your workouts then follow these tips.

#1 Follow a program

🌟Go in with a plan of what you’re going to do and work through your program one exercise at a time.

🌟Programs will keep you on track and will also make your training more productive and lead to better results than doing random workouts.

#2 Schedule Your Gym Time

🌟This helps you save time inside and outside of the gym. By scheduling your gym time you won’t have to give it any additional time to think about when you need to go again.

🌟If you can schedule your training at off-peak times, fewer people means less time wasted waiting for equipment.

#3 Use Your Phone Sparingly

🌟If you’re texting and checking social media between sets, it’s really easy for your workouts to drag on longer than they should as you get distracted.

🌟Ideally, you’ll only use your phone for taking notes, tracking progress, and listening to music/podcasts.

#4 Use Supersets

🌟Take 2 movements and do them back to back with minimal rest in between each exercise. This not only helps you save time, but it’s challenging, and great for building muscle and losing fat.

🌟A sample superset would look like this:
DB Chest Press x 10 reps immediately followed by DB Bent Over Row x 10 reps

#5 Use Mostly Machines

🌟Following on from using supersets, using 2 different machines to superset isn’t always practical nor is it time-saving when someone else wants to occupy a machine you want to use. In this scenario, pick 1 machine and 1 dumbbell or barbell exercise to make up your superset.

🌟Using machines as a whole saves time because the weight is set easily with a pin whereas barbells and dumbbells require more time and effort.

#6 Wear Headphones

🌟If you want to stay focused and avoid distractions then listen to music. Wearing headphones will also deter people from interrupting your workout with conversation.

#7 Time Your Rest Periods

🌟Your rest periods between sets should be set out in your program. Being consistent with your rest between sets with each exercise means you’ll be able to gauge your progress better.

🌟If you rest too long then the following set will become easier and if you rest too little, it will be harder.
